Pharrell to Open New Hotel on Paradise Island, Bahamas
Grammy Award winning musician Pharrell Williams is expanding his influence in the hospitality industry. It has been announced that he is working on a new hotel on Paradise Island in partnership with David Grutman of Groot Hospitality.
The ocean front Hotel will be called “Something Else”. It will have 400 rooms and designed in what is described as a “tropical modernism” style. See the rendering above. It will be designed by Shawn Sullivan.
Something Else is slated to be completed in 2024. It is being built on the site of the The Beach Resort at Atlantis. Atlantis Paradise Island is a large resort with a pristine beach and several resort options. It is known for its large waterpark, aquarium, and varied restaurant options.
Pharrell and Grutman previously collaborated on the Goodtime Hotel in Miami Beach which opened last year with success. That hotel was built in an Art Deco style and features the Strawberry restaurant/bar and pool club.
