The U.K. is Loosening Travel Restrictions in February
The U.K. is loosening travel restrictions as of February 11, 2022. This was per a recent announcement of the U.K. Department of Transportation. Vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers alike benefit from the new protocols. Fully vaccinated travelers will be able to enter the U.K. without a Covid test. Additionally, the U.K. is loosening travel restrictions for unvaccinated travelers. Unvaccinated travelers will not have to quarantine if they show a negative Covid PCR test. Nevertheless, they will however, need to take and receive a second negative Covid test within 2 days of arrival.
The country’s Department of Transportation stated that the U.K. in loosening travel restrictions “aims to provide stability for travelers and the travel industry throughout 2022 ensuring the U.K. remains one of the best places in the world to do business”
Similarly, Prime minister Boris Johnson remarked “to show that the company is open for business, open for travelers, you will see changes”. Air carriers lauded the decision which came after a recent lifting of pre-flight test requirements.
