The Disney Wish Promises to Live Up to Its Name

Disney Cruise Lines has not had a new ship in nearly a decade. Its next ship the Disney Wish is scheduled to launch in 2022. The ship will offer unique technology and other special perks and promises to live up to its name.

Disney is proclaiming the Wish as the ship that will meld superhero, animation and movie magic. The ship will incorporate characters from Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars as well as Disney. Walt Disney Imagineering, one of the creative arms of the Walt Disney corporation, came up with a number of new innovative features for the ship.

A New Attraction/Ride

The Disney Wish will feature a new attraction, the AquaMouse ride. While there are water coasters on other Disney ships, the AquaMouse ride is the first Disney ship water coaster with a story. This is done with nine screens and more than 60 water nozzles and will be somewhat interactive. The story will change by day so that passengers can take the ride multiple times without being bored.

Innovative Dining Options

The ship will have dining options that use technology and entertainment to create unique dining experiences. One of the new concepts is a the Avengers Quantum Encounter. There, diners will be able to shrink their food at their tables using “Quantum Core” while being visited by Marvel characters like Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Other special dining experiences will include the Arrendele Dining Room which is slated to be the first dining/entertainment experience based on the movie “Frozen” and a dining room showcasing the elegance of old Hollywood.

The Disney Wish will initially be based in Port Canaveral. Since this is the closest port to Orlando it will make a wonderful cherry on top a family vacation to Disneyland and Orlando’s other theme parks. It will be offering 3 and 4 itineraries to the Bahamas and their private island Disney Castaway Cay.

Fun Adults Only Venues

Among the adults only venues on board will be the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, an adults only bar with an immersive Disney theme. While drinking your favorite cocktail, you will be entertained by simulated hyperspace jumps from planet to planet.

The ship’s spa area has also been well-designed with adults wanting an upscale and relaxing spa experience.

Disney understands that people want more personal space these days and the Disney Wish will accommodate that wish as well. The ship will have a variety of staterooms and suites. Disney has also come up with a ship design that they assert will provide better passenger flow.
