Romantic wedding destinations can go beyond the traditional beach side nuptials. These five locales are not only unique in style and atmosphere, but gay-friendly and legal as well.

The Fjords of Norway

Norway is just the place to take in a myriad of culture and stunning natural landscapes. Norway is gay-friendly and was one of the first countries to legalize same-sex marriage. The city of Oslo is a culture epicenter, with opera, art and high-end hotels. The real draw however, is the endless fjords, quaint mountainside towns and the Northern Lights.

Argentina

The home of tango, wine and beef, Argentina oozes romance. Part Spanish heritage, Argentina also derives many of it’s culture and dishes from Italy as well. The country legalized same-sex marriages in 2010, the first in Latin America. The capital Buenos Aires has a vibrant arts scene. However, we would also recommend taking in an Argentine Tango performance at the Rio de la Plata.

Key West

Whether you’re looking for an endless party, or stunning golden sunsets each night, Key West is the place. The southernmost point in the continental US, sunset ceremonies are the norm. Cape Town, South Africa

Where else in the world can you get married with striking mountains, lush wine country, and golden beaches and then drive off for a safari honeymoon? Cape Town is not only gay-friendly, it’s a stunning and wedding destination and honeymoon wrapped up in one.

Prague, Czech Republic

Old world castles and architecture make Prague one of the hidden gems of Europe. Venture outside of the city for lush forests and mountains or stay in for exquisite and worldly food and wine. Take in the National Theater or one of the many museums. The Prague Castle is one of the biggest ancient castles in the world.
