Princess Cruises Creates New Exclusive Stateroom Booking Category Called the Sanctuary

Starting in October of this year, Princess Cruises will be joining some other cruise lines (like Celebrity) that have created an exclusive ship within a ship concept. Their new exclusive stateroom category is called the Sanctuary. It will debut on their Sun Princess with departures from Fort Lauderdale. They will then also include this stateroom category on their new ship, the Star Princess when it debuts next year.

What is the Sanctuary?

Unlike Celebrity’s Retreat area, the Sanctuary will not be a self-contained exclusive access area. Rather, it will be a stateroom category that nonetheless, gives you exclusive access to certain restaurants, public areas and other amenities.

There will be three different levels of accommodations within the Sanctuary booking category: Signature Suites, Mini-Suites and Premium Deluxe Balconies.

What Benefits Will It Offer?

The special areas include a top-deck retreat area, an upscale interior lounge and two exclusive restaurants, the Sanctuary and the Reserve Restaurant. The Sanctuary is exclusively for Signature Suite guests while the Retreat is for Mini Suite and Premium Deluxe Balcony guests. Guests booked within the Sanctuary automatically receive Princess Premier bundle, their top perks package.

Princess describes their new booking category as follows: “Princess’ new Sanctuary Collection is designed as an oceangoing oasis that elevates the art of relaxation and serenity with exclusive, next-level accommodations and benefits”
