As the snow-capped mountains begin to melt, the landscape comes alive with vibrant colors. Olivia’s Spring Alaska Cruise offers a unique opportunity for you to explore this pristine wilderness in its most enchanting season. The days begin to get longer, allowing more time to explore. Enjoy the spring flowers blooming and the beauty of nature. Spring in Alaska is a season of transition, as the bears emerge from hibernation and the rivers and lakes thaw, opportunities for fishing, boating and encounters with sea lions, sea otters, gray whales, humpbacks, and orcas abound. It is also a great time for birdwatching, as many migratory birds return to the area. Set sail with Olivia through Alaska’s springtime splendor and immerse yourself in the rugged allure of the Last Frontier.
This sailing also features Olivia’s Literary Adventures at Sea III program, a celebration of sapphic storytelling in partnership with Sapphire Books, where readers and authors connect through panels, readings, and book signings.
This trip is great for all guests and those with limited mobility. The ship has wheelchair accessible rooms, has multiple elevators and is wheelchair/scooter accessible. There may be excursions / bus / van tours that require a lot of walking or the ability to walk up and down stairs. If you do have limited mobility, we strongly encourage you travel with someone who can assist you.
Begin the day with scenic cruising through Stephen’s Passage, one of the best whale sighting areas in the state. Look for humpback whales, giant sea lions, guillemots and gulls, and majestic mountain peaks. While in Juneau, the most remote and most beautiful capital in the United States, hike up Mount Roberts to chance upon wild deer and bald eagles. Most sightseeing and whale-watching tours offer the best views of these majestic and surprisingly graceful creatures. If you prefer land mammals, catch a floatplane to a nearby wildlife reserve to spy some bears.
Endicott Arm is a 30-mile fjord that snakes through the Tracy Arm-Fords Wilderness Area. At the head is the majestic Dawes Glacier. Find a good spot on the spacious decks or get cozy on your verandah and take in the views. Glide past waterfalls that spool like silver ribbons from soaring mountain peaks. As you go deeper into the narrow fjord, the water changes color from gray to jade, the temperatures dip and the ice chunks become larger and more plentiful. The 600-foot-tall, mile-wide Dawes Glacier takes center stage just around a bend. The ship will inch up to this brilliant blue giant for a chance to witness calving, when ice breaks off and plunges into the sea. Dawes Glacier regularly rumbles with white thunder, so keep your camera ready! Wildlife sightings are common, so bring your binoculars. Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier are the breeding grounds of harbor seals, one of Alaska’s cutest critters. In spring, you can see chubby pups chilling with mom on floating ice. You might also spot mountain goats balancing on cliffs, humpback whales swimming with their pods or scan the valleys for brown and black bears.
Ketchikan has long been an important hub for salmon-fishing; visitors can try their luck on sportfishing or savor the fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants. Ketchikan is also one of the best spots to explore the rich cultural sights of Native Alaskan nations like the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian. Don’t forget to leave time to explore the sights in the town itself, where you can shop for souvenirs, smoked salmon and local art.

Olivia is proud to present another program of phenomenal music and comedy on our stages!
About once a year, Olivia entices the fabulous songbird who helped them get it all started to join us on a trip, and it is very lucky that Cris Williamson will be on their stage in Alaska. Celebrating their 40th year as a high-energy feminist indie rock band, BETTY will be onboard and hopefully will include in their show the infectious theme written for The L Word. Musician and Author, Be Steadwell, will charm you with their original loops, layering, enchanting songs, and stories. Joy Clark, a stellar singer-songwriter guitarist who got her name out there touring with Grammy Winners Cyril Neville and Allison Russell, will grace you with her own deep tunes. And new to Olivia, they are pleased to present 76TH STREET, the talented duo behind new gay anthems, “Girl (I think that I just got more gay…)”, and “The Lipstick Lounge”. Also joining Olivia for the first time at sea is former Voice finalist and Palm Springs favorite, Marisa Corvo.
On the comedic front, Olivia is thrilled to have international pros. An acute observer of the Olivia ‘universe’, Elvira Kurt, is a celebrated comic, hailing from Toronto, Canada, where she does stand-up, theater, popular TV, and hosts hysterical game shows. Jen Kober, hailing from her home in “Looziana”, joins us fresh from her “One Hick Wonder” tour, a show in Vegas, and acting spots on TV sitcoms. Olivia is also thrilled to announce that NY-based comedian, actor, model, podcaster, and Emmy Nominee Sydnee Washington will make her Olivia debut on this trip.
And of course, Dancing, Dancing, Dancing at theme parties, pool parties, and Club O’s featuring the diverse beats of the ever-popular DJ Rockaway, who brings her unique mix of music styles—dance, hip-hop, R&B, house, club, and retro. New to Olivia, the Bay Area’s own DJ Shellheart, who tours internationally and is most recently one of the two DJs for the WNBA Golden State Valkyries. And, for those Karaoke lovers, Olivia has got you! DJ Dawn Michaels will host several opportunities for you to sing your hearts out.

I was lucky enough to find Jonathan just by googling. He was very personable, friendly and professional. He was able to put our entire trip together in just a few days and checked on us every day of our trip to make sure we were satisfied. He is the best and only travel agent I will use going forward.
Jonathan and his team pulled out all the stops for our boys trip! I planned a very last minute trip for me, my dad and son and this team completed an entire agenda full of entertainment, food stops, and must see places! Truly impressed with his customer service, attention to detail, and responsiveness. If these guys are helping you plan a trip, you can rest assured that it will be amazing!
My wife and I had the trip of a lifetime in France for our 20 year anniversary, thanks to Jonathan and Purple Light Vacations. His ideas for hotels, itinerary and tours were spot on. He was completely able to gauge what we would love with just a short conversation and a few emails. Thank you Jonathan. You're a rockstar and we will definitely be using you again and again!
We just booked our second cruise within the past year through Purple Light Vacations due to their outstanding service. Jonathan Geen is not only highly professional, he is enjoyable to work with. What is the one thing we all want from the service industry, and especially dealing with travel and vacations-- timely and helpful assistance. Jonathan was quick to respond to any question or inquiry, whether by email or phone, any time or day of the week. He went over and above to make sure we were taken care of, and even provided information about places he didn't even book for us. Purple Light is now our go-to firm for travel and vacations.
