Looking for Camelot? Follow me by Travel Writer Tonya Denmark
Found your Camelot? We all have the places we love and for us are perfect in every way. For Dave and Jonathan it’s P-town; for me it’s Disney World and for other fans of Purple Light it’s places like Palm Springs and Ft. Lauderdale.
A Camelot is the idyllic place. It’s the place according to legend where the climate must be perfect all year, the rain never falls and (at least in our minds) if we live there, we will live happily ever after. For those of you who have not yet found your “Camelot”, we scoured the globe for a few other places you might keep in contention:
Bali
Nothing says Shangri-La better than Bali. Beautiful Bali is a gay friendly island and in Seminyak there are plenty of gay owned and gay friendly accommodations and night clubs. Bali itself has average year round temperatures in the mid 80’s, and has plenty of white sand, bright blue waters and warm tropical breezes.
Paris
If you’re idea of perfection is the finest in art, food and wine, than perhaps your perfect place is Paris. Imagine strolling hand in hand down many delightful alleyways of Paris, sipping the finest wines of nearby regions and discovering art at the Louvre and Musee Orsay.
Cruise
We work with a lot of cruisers and for good reason. A cruise, any cruise, is perfection for many people and for good reason. When you have gourmet food, Broadway caliber shows, top-notch spas, and a variety of cultural destinations to visit, a floating oasis is pure bliss no matter where it takes you.
Key West
If you love tropical islands, but want to stay a bit closer to home, Key West is the place for everything wild, weird and wonderful. Key West is full of eclectic places to eat, shop and party. The southernmost island is as adventurous as you’d like with everything from scuba diving to sky diving. Or kick back and chill with a hammock, drink in hand and some of the best sunsets in the world. There are also bars and clubs where you may be able to find your “Sir Lancelot” or “Lady Guinivere”.
Where is your perfect place, your go-to paradise?
