Carnival Announces First Roller Coaster At Sea
Carnival Cruise Lines President Christine Duffy recently proudly announced that Carnival will offer the first roller coaster at sea. This roller coaster will be on its new ship the Mardi Gras to launch in 2020.
The roller coaster is to be called the “Bolt”. A company in Munich, Germany that specializes in constructing amusement park rides, is manufacturing the “Bolt”. Overlooking, the Lido deck, it will offer twists and turns 187 feet above sea level. In addition, it will have over 800 feet of track and reach speeds of 40 miles per hour. This first roller coaster at sea will take cruise thrill seeking to a whole other level. However, the plan has created some controversy among cruise passengers who want a more quiet Lido deck experience.
The Mardi Gras will be the latest ship in Carnival’s XL Brand and will be based in Cape Canaveral Florida.
