Where are the Biggest and Gayest Parties This Halloween Exclusive to Purple Light Vacations by Tonya Denmark
While we don’t need an excuse to dress up and have a little fun, Halloween is the perfect occasion to ramp up the party factor. Here’s where to find some of the biggest Halloween parties across the US.
NOLA
New Orleans is no stranger to a good party, with All Hallow’s Eve bearing a close second to Mardi Gras. Each year the city picks a theme, with this year being Pirate’s Revenge: The Curse of Jean Lafitte. Special events happen throughout the city such as the Lazurus Ball, Glo Neon Party and more. Chicago
Chi-town doesn’t shy away from putting together a spectacular event. Halloween on Halsted Street is a parade on Halloween that attracts gay and straight alike. North Halsted Street dubbed Boystown, is Chicago’s Proudest Neighborhood. The parade isn’t the only event on Halsted. A full weekend of family friendly activities are available as well.
West Hollywood
The WeHo Carnaval is the place to see and be seen. With outrageous and skimpy costumes, live performances and celebrity sightings, the street party is full of glitter, glitz and glam. This year’s entertainment across multiple music stages hasn’t been announced yet, but you can be sure it’ll be big. Click here for event updates.
San Diego
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention our Halloween party in our hometown of San Diego. This year’s party takes place October 28th at Irenic Concert Hall and features performances by Brad Loeckle and Matt Yee. To continue the fun, we recommend hopping on board the All Gay Halloween cruise to Mexico the day after. For those who prefer to stay in town, join us on October 29th at the popular Nightmare on Normal Street that benefits the LGBT Center.
