A Preview of RCL’s Latest Ship, the Icon of the Seas
We have gotten a sneak peak at Royal Caribbean International’s (“RCL”)highly anticipated new ship, the Icon of the Seas.
When Will It Launch and For Whom Is It Designed?
The Icon will be arriving in late 2o23 and is scheduled to launch in January of 2024.
RCL has designed the Icon to cater to thrill seekers and families including multi-generational families seeking varied options for their group. It will be almost 1,200 feet long and will accommodate approximately 5,600 passengers.

Where Will It Be Based and Travel To?
It will be based year round in Miami and offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
What Will the Icon Offer on Board?
The new class of ships will offer a total of eight neighborhoods that will be alive day and night. Five of these are new and include Thrill Island with the largest waterpark at sea as well as the first family raft slides at sea, The Hideaway with the first suspended infinity pool at sea, and the AquaDome that has a waterfall and chill vibe during the day but is full of excitement at night with an Aqua Theater with cutting edge technology.
These 5 new neighborhoods join the well-known Central Park, Royal Promenade and Suite neighborhoods.
Thrill seekers can try the Pressure Drop, the first open-free-fall slide, the Frightening Bolt, which at 46 feet tall will be the tallest drop slide at sea, and Crown’s Edge, a challenging cruise ship skywalk and ropes course.
If will also offer over 15 different bars, restaurants, cafes and lounges.
