Top Places to Visit During the Holidays
There are some places that just become more magical during the holidays. If you’re traveling, or thinking about traveling this time of year, we selected a few places we love during the Christmas season.
New York City
The tree, the lights, the windows, the skating rinks… what’s not to love this time of year? New York City is a quintessential destination for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Whether you’re visiting the iconic tree in front of Rockefeller Center, strolling hand in hand through Central Park, visiting all the scenes from your favorite holiday movies. And if you’ve never been in Times Square to see the ball drop, this is one bucket list item that’s a must do at least once in your life!
London
What if you take all the wonderful things about NYC during the holidays and turned it British? You get a Love, Actually kind of holiday. Add in traditional European style Christmas markets and extraordinary light shows along Oxford Street, Carnaby, Brunswick Centre or along the Strand and you’ll get a dazzling holiday spirit to go with your vacation.
Ft Lauderdale.
Fly south for the winter to one of our favorite places, Fort Lauderdale. Here you can have all the wonder of Christmas activities and none of the snow! Outdoor ice skating is available in Huizenga Plaza as well as Water Taxi Holiday Lights cruise. Where else can you see dazzling decorated homes from the inter coastal waterways?
Whistler, British Columbia
If you are seeking snow for your holiday festivities, head north to Whistler. Located just north of Vancouver, Whistler has three main ski villages. Hosting WinterPride in January, the city is one of the best gay friendly ski destinations around. Whistler also hosts a rocking New Year’s eve party at many venues in town.
Which do you prefer for the holidays? Domestic or international, sun or snow? Whichever you prefer, we hope you have a wonderful, safe and happy holiday season.
