The Celebrity Apex Launches

The long anticipated official launch of Celebrity Cruises new ship the Celebrity Apex took place on Tuesday November 2nd. It was christened by its godmother Reshma Saujani, the founder and CEO of Girls Who Code.

What is the Celebrity Apex and What Does It Offer?

The Apex is the second vessel in the cruise line’s Edge class of ships. It is a sister ship to the Celebrity Edge which has received great reviews and is revolutionary in several ways. It has an orange cantilevered platform that Celebrity calls the “Magic Carpet” that moves up and down the ship’s decks. The “Magic Carpet “acts as a multi-purpose outdoor space. Additionally, the ship is designed to provide more open guest space. This is a welcome design feature in the pandemic age. One of these open guest spaces is “Eden” a cutting edge design dining/performance venue. The ship’s innovations extend to its staterooms.   The balcony staterooms offer “infinite verandas” which meld a patio space with the stateroom’s interior.

The ship offers 29 different restaurants and bars. Fitness fans will appreciate the ship’s unique fitness options including Peloton bikes and the first F45 classes at sea.  Shoppers will love the 7,000 square feet of shops. This includes high end boutiques including Cartier and Bulgari.

Itineraries and Photos

Following some brief Greek Isle cruises this summer, the Celebrity Apex will now offer rotating Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries out of Fort Lauderdale. The ship accommodates 2,910 at double occupancy.
