Looking for a romantic getaway? Here are a few of our top romantic destinations around the world and in the U.S.

Maldives

While far away from the U.S. and not an inexpensive trip, the clear waters, beautiful beaches and exotic nature of the Maldives makes it a great honeymoon or other trip romantic destination. We have sent  both straight and same sex couples there.

Catalina Island

For those looking for a romantic getaway from Southern California, Catalina Island is a great option. It offers a bit of European-like flair in the U.S. It offers beach clubs, a fun restaurant and bar scene and hiking and tour options including buffalo sighting tours. It also hosts some notable music festivals.

ABC Islands

Our favorite islands in the Caribbean (also known as Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) offer great weather including the virtual absence of hurricanes. These three islands offer romance whether you are looking for the relative bustle and shops of Aruba, the charm and colorful capital of Curacao, or the breathtaking undersea colors and creatures snorkeling or diving  from Bonaire. All three islands offer romantic dining options.

Buenos Aires

In the words from “Evita”, beautiful town we love you. Whether its the fact that Argentina was the birthplace of the tango, its long and stylish Avenida de Julio or that we love dining out (on steak and great red wines) in the upscale Recoleta neighborhood, this is a great destination for couples. After seeing the haunting grounds of Eva Peron and getting that city jolt, you can do an overnight (or longer) trip to the majestic Iguazu Falls.

Mackinac Island

Maybe it’s being unable to forget Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in the movie “Somewhere in Time” or that very romantic movie theme, but there is something very romantic about this Michigan island. Particularly its Grand Hotel that takes you back to a forgotten time and offers attentive service and pampering.

Tahiti

The land of overwater bungalows and South Pacific dreams must be included on this list. From its French flair to crystal clear waters this is a prime couples destination. While it is often a pricey destination, there are some cruise and land options to see the Tahitian islands for less.

Paris

No list of romantic destinations could be considered complete without this popular European city. From walks along the Seine and exploring its varied neighborhoods such as the Marais and the Latin Quarter, Paris the “City of Lights” is a romantic tour de force. We love picnics at the very special Luxembourg Gardens, Seine River cruises and dinners in bistros by candelight as well as exploring the famous museums and other sights.
