Detours Travel, known for offering top notch small group adventure tours to the LGBT community, is offering a 12 day all LGBT Spain adventure tour several times a year.
Their itinerary provides an in depth view of three of Spain’s most historic and fascinating cities, Seville, Granada and cosmopolitan Barcelona. It also includes 3 days in Madrid, one of Europe’s if not the world’s top cities.
Detours’ tours are limited to 20 and are known for being laid back and unstructured. Detours’ goal is to allow you to really get to know the destination but at your own pace. They provide both active and more relaxed options in each destination, which allows you to set your own pace. Their tours are good for both couples and singles because of the small group and friendly inclusive atmosphere.
Detours’ 12-day trip through Spain mixes the contrasting regions of Catalonia and Andalucia. From the modern Gaudi-inspired Barcelona, to the picturesque traditional town of Granada, it will provide a well-rounded Spanish experience. An evening of flamenco in Granada, sangria on the beach in Sitges, the excitement of Barcelona, and tapas under Seville’s cathedral are just a few unforgettable moments to cherish. Below is a brief itinerary. Please contact us for more details, if interested.
Barcelona is jam-packed full of unique things to see and do which is why it’s such a loved place by its visitors! Your first two nights will be spent finding out why this city makes people yearn to come back over and over again. Your Detours group will check out some famous spots together such as the Sagrada Familia, and Las Ramblas then take in the view from the best vantage point atop Mont Juic while sipping the finest Sangria. You will be meeting your Detours group at 4 p.m. to start your adventure
Optional Activities: Barcelona Biking Tour; Park Guell; La Padrera; Casa Batio; Art Museum of Catalonia; Palau de la Musica
The famous Alhambra looms over the quaint, picturesque, traditionally Andalusian streets, all set against the background of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains. “Can’t miss” items in this gorgeous town include visiting the hill-top Alhambra at sunset, taking in a local flamenco show, and checking out the many parks, streets, and buildings dating back to the time of the Moorish rule. Whether you’d like to take a Spanish cooking course here, take a day trip up to the Sierra Nevada mountains, or maybe even visit local wineries, you’ll have plenty of options to keep you as busy as you’d like.
Optional Activities: The Alhambra; Flamenco Show; Hammam Arab Baths; Olive Oil Tour; Granada Cathedral
Seville (or “Sevilla” as the locals call it) is incredibly rich in history and is the home to many things that scream “SPAIN!” including bull-riding, flamenco, and paella. It’s also known as being one of the most romantic cities in Spain with romance in the air at every turn. Of course there’s also a very lively gay community here too if you’re looking to meet some locals! All of this makes Seville a perfectly well-rounded city with beauty, history, and culture galore.
Optional Activities: Seville Cathedral; Bullring Experience; Plaza de la Espana; Royal Alcazar; Spanish cooking class; Seville bike tour; Segway tour.
One of the world’s great cities, Madrid is a hub of art history, nightlife, shopping and culinary delights. The Royal Palace and world famous Prado museum are highlights but so is the gay nightlife and the tapas and other restaurants.

I was lucky enough to find Jonathan just by googling. He was very personable, friendly and professional. He was able to put our entire trip together in just a few days and checked on us every day of our trip to make sure we were satisfied. He is the best and only travel agent I will use going forward.
Jonathan and his team pulled out all the stops for our boys trip! I planned a very last minute trip for me, my dad and son and this team completed an entire agenda full of entertainment, food stops, and must see places! Truly impressed with his customer service, attention to detail, and responsiveness. If these guys are helping you plan a trip, you can rest assured that it will be amazing!
My wife and I had the trip of a lifetime in France for our 20 year anniversary, thanks to Jonathan and Purple Light Vacations. His ideas for hotels, itinerary and tours were spot on. He was completely able to gauge what we would love with just a short conversation and a few emails. Thank you Jonathan. You're a rockstar and we will definitely be using you again and again!
We just booked our second cruise within the past year through Purple Light Vacations due to their outstanding service. Jonathan Geen is not only highly professional, he is enjoyable to work with. What is the one thing we all want from the service industry, and especially dealing with travel and vacations-- timely and helpful assistance. Jonathan was quick to respond to any question or inquiry, whether by email or phone, any time or day of the week. He went over and above to make sure we were taken care of, and even provided information about places he didn't even book for us. Purple Light is now our go-to firm for travel and vacations.
