Fairmont The Norfolk (Deluxe Courtyard Queen Room)
The hotel features wireless high speed internet, a full service spa, suana, stem bath and heated pool. It also features a 24 hour fitness center offering state-of-the-art equipment including free weights along with treadmills, lifecycles and nautilus machines.
The Deluxe Courtyard Rooms feature a queen bed, refreshment center, tea and coffee facilities, bedside lamps, 32′ TV, hairdryer, digital & cordless phone, iron & ironing board, safe and reading desk and multimedia panels.

Tawi Lodge (Cottage Twin)
Twelve enormous, elegant rooms, thatched with local mkuti, are set with fireplaces and furnished with four poster beds swathed in snow-white mosquito nets. Each has a large lockable wooden chest for safekeeping of valuables, and spacious hanging cupboards.
Lodge comforts include 24 Hour Power (240v), supplied predominantly by solar power & backed up by generators. Phones, computers & cameras can be charged at any time. CPAP machines can be used at night & hairdryers can be used at certain times of day. Free Wifi is provided in the main lounge area. Hot water in the cottages is solar heated & backed up by briquette burning water heating boosters. Sufficient power to operate a reverse osmosis & filtration system in order to be able to supply clean, safe drinking water for all guests. Solar powered electric fence which surrounds the the lodge compound.

Today you depart from Nairobi on an included commercial flight bound for Rwanda’s capital city, Kigali. Upon arrival your local representatives will meet you and transfer you to the Kigali Serena Hotel, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a restful night.

Monday, March 3, 2025: Kigali/Volcanoes National Park
Following an included breakfast at the hotel, we depart the hotel for a city tour of Kigali featuring the Genocide Memorial Museum. Kigali has been at the center of the country’s dedication to move past their tragic history, and make the country stronger and better than ever. The city has been hailed as one of the cleanest, safest and prettiest capital cities in Africa. This is unsurprising considering the substantial strides Rwanda has taken to ameliorate the country, from its ban of plastic bags to the implementation of Umuganda which sees a monthly coalition of all citizens to clean up their neighborhoods. Kigali’s extensive development has also seen the growth of cultural and contemporary activities; shopping at trendy artisan hub Kigali Cultural Village, exploring the explosion of colors at Kimironko Market, enjoying the city’s burgeoning dining and café scene, or honoring the country’s painful past by visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Following lunch at a local restaurant we drive 2 hours to the Northern Province of Rwanda in Musanze District, the gateway to the Volcanoes National Park, where we’ll check in to The Bishop’s House. The Bishop’s House offers the ultimate in luxury and comfort, with spacious guest rooms and world-class amenities that are sure to exceed your expectations. Tuesday, March 4, 2025: Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will transfer us about 25 minutes to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for your gorilla tracking adventure. You will be given a full briefing by your trackers – be informed about the gorilla family you are tracking, what to expect during the track, how to behave when with the family, and how long you will be with them, as well as meeting the other travelers who are tracking with us. There will be a total of eight guests per gorilla family. Once the briefing is complete you will meet porters who will help carry your backpacks and help with your footing during the hike. Then your driver guide will take us to the start of the trail head to begin our amazing adventure.
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda is often described as “life-changing” and with good reason. 1,000 gorillas left in the world, to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is a truly unique and memorable experience. Gorillas make their homes in and amongst the bamboo-covered slopes of the Virunga Mountains in the Volcanoes National Park. Our expert trackers will take us to visit a habituated family of mountain gorillas where we can stay with them for an awe-inspiring hour, often crouching just a few feet away, while the gorillas go about their daily lives. Hikes in the mountains can last anywhere from 30 minutes to four hours, depending on the family allocated to our group and their location. The journey back can take just as long, but you are often carried along by the euphoria you feel after sighting these majestic creatures.
At the end of this lifechanging experience we are driven back to the lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the beautiful Bishop’s House, reveling in the morning’s experience. A sumptuous dinner is included tonight at the property.

Wednesday, March 5, 2025: Volcanoes National Park/Kigali
Today enjoy breakfast and lunch before you begin the 2 hour drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival you’ll go back to the Kigali Serena Hotel, where you’ll have day room use prior to departing on your international flight, homeward bound. If necessitated by your flight, a full overnight stay can be arranged at an additional cost.

Dog Tracking at Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Come and visit Ol Pejeta’s anti-poaching dog unit. Interact with the dog keepers and learn about what it takes to look a specially trained canine team.
Following on from the tour of the kennels, clients are encouraged to try to evade our sniffer dogs. Run, jump, twist, turn and find somewhere to hide within the environs of Morani and see if your blood hounds can seek you out. Not only is this great fun for you, but you will be helping to offer genuine training for the dogs.
Group sizes are restricted to 6 people. Physical interaction with the dogs will be relatively restricted. In case the dogs are deployed we will refund money or try to reschedule the activity.

Lion Tracking at Ol Pejeta Conservancy

A unique opportunity to track and learn about the lions of Ol Pejeta and contribute towards their conservation. Guests can participate in helping us to gather vital research information needed to monitor collared lions. In the event that the collared lions are inaccessible, other lion sightings are reported and the same identifying features such as whisker spots, ear tears and nose spotting recorded. It is a great way to learn about lions and all of the information gathered is passed on to the Ol Pejeta Ecological Monitoring Department.
Available daily between 6:30 – 8:30 and 3:30 – 5:30. Activity lasts for approximately 2 hours. Guests are required to remain in the vehicle at all times. Drinking water, lion ID sheets and pens will be provided. Brand g would recommend that clients come with their cameras and binoculars. Vehicle seats 6 people and is not exclusive use.

Balloon safari at Masai Mara

As the balloon is inflated against the first rays of sunrise your pilot will go through safety procedures. It’s then time to climb aboard. Once aloft, the balloon floats gently over the plains, giving a bird’s eye view of the game below as the sun creeps slowly over the horizon. Spread beneath you is a panorama of Africa – elephants looking improbably small; giraffe browsing amongst the treetops; antelope grazing; a pair of lionesses stalking a herd of wildebeest; an eagle guarding his eerie; and cheetah glancing up as the shadow of the huge balloon crosses their paths.
After approximately one hour the balloon lands and nearby breakfast is already being prepared. The smells of bacon, sausages and eggs drift on the breeze as you begin breakfast with platefuls of exotic Kenyan fruits and homemade pastries and, of course, glasses of bubbly to toast your flight.

Purple Light has booked vacations for us at Disneyland, Aruba, Charleston, Fort Lauderdale, New York City, Bahamas, Brazil and two cruises and all this since January 2016. Normally I research and book hotels on my own. This year, however, I was extremely busy at work and I had no time to do this, so I reached out to Purple Light for their help in planning a trip to the Greek islands, and am glad I did! We used Purple Light when we booked our Atlantis P.V. Mexico Resort Vacation. With no additional cost to us, Purple Light made what would have been a good vacation...an amazing vacation. It is not easy to book a trip for a large group including all of the flights, rooming/accommodations and excursions. We were in New Orleans for Southern Decadence. Purple Light Vacations recommended a spectacular hotel right in the area we were interested in staying. We have also traveled to Italy, France, and Barcelona where each of their recommendations was excellent! Everything went exactly as planned.
