Casablanca
“Here’s looking at you, kid.”
One of the most iconic film lines in history from the cinematic masterpiece “Casablanca.” You start your small group luxury tour of Morocco in this beautiful city. While the film might conjure images of shadowed cafes and intrigue, the real Casablanca, a coastal city facing the Atlantic Ocean, surprises with its bright, modern energy and touch of French flair.
In the afternoon, you’ll uncover Casablanca’s treasures, starting with the majestic Hassan II Grand Mosque, one of the few mosques in Morocco that are open to non-Muslims. Intricate tilework and the soft echo of prayers create a breathtaking atmosphere. Later, we’ll visit Mohammed V Square and the beautiful lanes of the Quartier Habbous, a modern vision of a traditional medina.
As the day winds down, you will return to our host hotel for our “Welcome Dinner” to mingle with fellow travelers for the beginning of your wondrous adventure in Morocco. Source Journeys strongly suggests arriving in Casablanca by noon or the day before (October 3rd). Arrival Airport: Casablanca (CMN).
