The Westerdam is one of Holland America’s finest ships. It is part of their Vista class ships that were designed for more fun and vibrant passengers. These ships are known for their larger than average cabins and warm hospitable crews. It was launched in 2004 and accommodates about 1,900 passengers. Your cruise fittingly begins in evergreen Seattle, known as the Emerald City. It mixes a cosmopolitan city with a small town vibe. It has good gay night life and many cultural offerings. It is a great place to sample not only their famous coffee and wonderful Pacific Northwest cuisine, but also the excellent Washington state wines. It is a great city to bicycle or walk around in. Be sure to check out the modern architecture including the library and of course the famous Space Needle built for the 1962 World’s Fair.
JUNEAU: This is the state of Alaska’s capital but an unusual capital city it is. It is completely surrounded by nature and has no roads leading into or out of town! It originally became known as a gold mining town. It is a port with many options whether you want to be active by hiking (the Mendenhall Glacier is waiting) or zip lining, or simply relax. You can take in the sights including the Capitol building, experience great whale watching, or visit the Alaskan Brewing Company for a tour and taste of their product. There is good shopping and restaurants and bars as well.
KETCHIKAN is known both as the salmon capital of the world as and the port with the largest collection of totem poles. It offers a blend of good activities. You can kayak in Misty Fjords, hike up Deer Mountain or spend the day poking in their wonderful and brightly painted galleries and shops. There is also a famous lumberjack show where you can check out the muscles of the logging industry pros!
VICTORIA, CANADA
This charming and very walkable town is perhaps the most English town you will see in North America. High tea is served in the hotels such as the famous Fairmount Empress Hotel. Its grand Parliament building and gardens are impressive. The antique shopping on Antique Row is excellent for those seeking those items. Travelers seeking a more active day may head to Vancouver Island, known as a world class scuba diving location, where you may be swimming with both seals and sea lions.

Be “In The Know” about Obstructions: The standard cruise industry definition of an obstruction or partial obstruction is if the view of the horizon is interrupted when an average height person (170cm or 5’7”) is standing at the balcony’s handrail. If the horizon line is blocked in its entirety, the view is considered fully “obstructed.” If any part of the view of the horizon line is blocked by a lifeboat, overhang, support beam, or any other fixed apparatus (not including moveable cleaning equipment), the view is considered “partially obstructed.” If the horizon line can be viewed in its entirety when standing at the handrail, the view is not considered to be obstructed in any way.

Your initial deposit is due at time of booking. Then, your remaining monthly payments will be calculated using the number of months between your booking and the final payment due date.
