NY is Opening Up to U.S. Travelers
Governor Cuomo announced that as of April 1, 2021 NY is opening up to U.S. travelers. This was a very welcome announcement. Up to that time all U.S. travelers (except from contiguous states) needed to quarantine up to ten days upon arrival. There were hefty fines imposed upon those who failed to comply. Now, asymptomatic U.S. travelers do not need to either take a COVID test or quarantine upon arrival.
The New York State Department of Health still recommends that travelers from out of state who are not fully vaccinated quarantine for extra safety. In addition all U.S. travelers coming from a non-contiguous state must fill out the state’s Travel Health Form. NY defines its contiguous states as New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont. Check out the current rules and the required travelers form HERE.
NY state is still requiring international travelers (with an exception made to Canadians) to quarantine.
