New and Welcomed Changes at Jet Blue
Jet Blue is an airline that is popular with many of our clients. Here are two welcome changes that Jet Blue has made in the past several weeks.
New “Blue Sky” Program with United Airlines
Jet Blue and United have created an alliance allowing customers to earn and redeem miles on either airline. They will also offer reciprocal benefits and perks like priority boarding and upgraded seats. This alliance will also expand the flight destination offerings for each airline.
Flights can be booked on either carrier’s website. As of now, lounge access is not part of the benefits of the alliance but discussions on this issue are reportedly in process. Note that the “Blue Sky” program benefits are being rolled out in phases.
Airport Lounges
Speaking of airline lounges, JetBlue has just opened its first airport lounge at its main hub, JFK in NYC. The lounge called Blue House is at JFK’s Terminal 5. The lounge offers much in terms of refreshments and options for making the most of your time between flights, whether you are seeking to just relax or be productive.

The menu will feature both food and drink sourced from some of NYC’s most beloved suppliers including craft cocktails and artisan wines developed or selected by the City’s top sommeliers and mixologists and barista level coffee and espresso drinks.
The lounge is spacious with two levels including quiet areas and two bars. There is also a television/game room including board games and a photo booth. Those looking to relax will appreciate the music playlist by Rockbot. Those looking to be productive will appreciate the high speed WIFI.
