Great New Things Happening at Delta Airlines
Great things are happening recently at Delta Airlines. Here we list three welcome and new developments:
Free WIFI For SkyMiles Members
Starting on February 1, WIFI will start to be free on select domestic flights for passengers that are members of Delta Airlines loyalty program, SkyMiles. This welcomed new development is a partnership between Delta Airlines and T-Mobile. Throughout the year, more domestic flights with free WIFI will be added with the plan that WIFI will be free on all Delta’s domestic flights by December 31st. Delta Airlines is further planning to add international and regional flights to their free WIFI list by the end of 2024.

You’ll be able to browse, stream, message, shop, work and more in the air, from takeoff to touchdown – now for free!

“At work, at home and everywhere in between, connectivity is essential to daily life, and your journey on Delta should be no different,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. “Our vision has long been to deliver an experience at 30,000 feet that feels similar to what our customers have available on the ground.”
Upgraded Service
Delta has announced that it will be upgrading its service particularly in Delta One, its premier class.
It will be bringing back its popular dessert cart. The tempting cart choices will include options like a build your own sundae, and other decadent desserts.
The food choices will also be upgraded. On international flights tailored to the local ingredients and cuisines of the destinations.
Their cocktail service will also be expanded and upgraded. They will be featuring such cocktails as espresso martinis made with Counter Culture coffee as well a Negroni with Prosecco.
Delta One will also feature a traditional afternoon tea menu featuring Thrive Farmer’s tea as well as the classic bites including scones and other pastries, tea sandwiches, cream and jam.
Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta’s S.V.P of in-flight service said in a statement “From delicious Spanish tapas plates to refreshing rose, there is something new for everyone to enjoy”
New Routes/Flights on Delta Airlines
Delta has announced some new routes and flights as well. Starting in October 2023, they will be offering daily nonstop flights between LAX and Auckland, New Zealand. They will be the first U.S. carrier to offer such nonstop service. They will be using Airbus 350-900 aircrafts for their New Zealand flights.
Delta already provides 10 nonstop flights a week from LAX to Sydney, Australian.
Delta will also be increasing its trans-Atlantic service from NYC and Atlanta. Their European destinations from these cities include Berlin, Dusseldorf, Geneva and Stuttgart as well as Edinburgh.
