Turneffe Island Resort in Belize
Belize opened to tourists including Americans on October 1. Travelers must follow Belize’s 9-point safety initiative. Turneffe is the largest coral atoll in Belize and located about 20 miles from Belize City. The island is known for its flora and fauna including dolphins, manatees, and over 500 species of fish as well as many plants. It is also known as being the site of a ship capture by Blackbeard the pirate. The exclusive Turneffe Island resort offers 22 private accommodations on the chic island. The resort includes everything from a wellness spa that offers massage, body wraps, and nail care, to fine dining options and even a private helicopter pad.
Hotel Barriere on St. Barths
St Barthelemy (Barths) is scheduled to open to tourists including Americans on October 15th. St. Barths has long been a favorite of celebrities including Madonna. They and other visitors come to St. Barths for its white-sand beaches, chic French ambience, top-notch cuisine, and nightlife. It is also known as being one of the more gay-friendly Caribbean Islands. St. Barth’s is anticipated to be a particularly popular destination since it has been rated as a low COVID-19 risk. Tourists will be required to have a negative PCR COVID-19 test result taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure. The Barriere Hotel there is slated to open on October 15th. This inviting hotel offers 21 rooms and suites in a garden like setting in St. Barths’ capital Gustavia. The resort is known for tis Le Fourquet Under the Stars restaurant under the direction of Chef Pierre Gagnaire will offer socially distanced wellness programs including private Pilates.
Club Med Cancun
Cancun has been opened for a while now, but Club Med Cancun has not yet, and is scheduled to reopen on October 17th. They are promising new and enhanced safety protocols. This all-inclusive resort offers everything from three private beaches to trapeze training. The resort has gone under recent renovations including an expansion of its family-friendly Aguamarina building. The resort’s separate and more upscale Exclusive Collection Jade wing continues to be in demand.

Club Med Turks & Caicos
Turks and Caicos is set to open in October. Tourists including Americans will be able to visit if they obtain a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure and also purchase required health insurance. Club Med Turks and Caicos, is scheduled to open on October 24th. This adults-only Club Med on one of Turks & Caicos’ best beaches open reopening will be offering an enhanced wellness center and a new wine cellar for wine enthusiasts. The resort has gone through recent renovations including a brand new pool and main bar as well as upgraded guestrooms.
Ritz Carlton Private Villas on Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman opened to tourists on October 1. Grand Cayman, a British overseas territory, is an island for divers, golfers, shoppers, and those who just want to hang out on beautiful white sand beaches. In fact, its Seven Mile Beach is one of the most renowned beaches in all of the Caribbean; and deservedly so. There are also great opportunities on Grand Cayman to get “up close and personal” with stingrays (friendly) and sea turtles.
