An Airport To Look Forward to Going To? This One in Singapore Will Be
We usually think of airports as a place to get through as quickly as possible. However the addition planned for for the Jewel Chiang Airport in Singapore will create something almost unfathomable, an airport to look forward to going to. The 1.4 million square foot addition, which is scheduled to open later this spring, offers unparalleled amenities and design. It will include an indoor forest with the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. It will also offer 280 retail shops and restaurants and bars as well as other public spaces. The waterfall will be even more spectacular at night with audio/visual displays. The design even includes some treetop trails. The addition is designed by famed Israeli/Canadian architect Moshe Sadfie. Sadfie is the father of Sadfie Rabines, another respected architect in our home base of San Diego.
If you think this all sounds like something out of “Crazy Rich Asians”, you are not wrong. Sadfie is known for some of his over the top luxury buildings in Singapore some of which were featured in the movie.
