5 New Cruise Ships on the Horizon
With cruising popularity on the rise, cruise lines are planning to launch many new cruise ships over the next couple of years to provide more cruise options in all price categories. Here we list 5 of the most anticipated cruise ships on the horizon.
Norwegian Encore
This 4,000 passenger ship and the fourth and last ship within Norwegian’s Breakaway Class is set to launch in November of 2019 from its home port of Miami. It will initially sail on Eastern Caribbean itineraries. The ship will boast a 180 degree observation lounge, and many dining options.
Crystal Endeavor
The Crystal Endeavor is an exploration Mega yacht to be launched in 2020. It will have P6 polar destination and is designed for Antarctica. The ship will possess unparalleled technology to explore the Antarctic including a SEABOB underwater scooter, and two helicopters with landing pad and two submarines for 8 people. It will also offer unusually spacious and upscale suites and common areas including an infinity pool that converts into a dance floor.
Carnival Panorama
Carnival Cruises new Vista Class ship the Panorama is set to launch in December 2019 from Long Beach and will be used for Mexican Riviera cruise itineraries. The ship will accommodate 3,954 passengers and offer many thrill attractions including the SkyRide, a bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction, the WaterWorks aqua park and the Cloud 9 spa. It will also feature a Havana section with Cuban inspired staterooms and bars.
Spectrum of the Seas
Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas (shown above) is a 4,246 passenger ship and the first ship in RCL’s Quantum Ultra-Class. The ship is designed for the Chinese market and will start to sail from Shanghai in June of 2019. The ship’s design includes new exclusive access Golden and Silver suites that offer their own shopping area and balcony for sunbathing. The Spectrum will also include some of the thrill lover amenities Royal Caribbean is known for including the North Start that provides amazing views 300 feet above the ship and a new SkyPad bungee-trampoline experience.
The Scarlet Lady
Richard Branson’s new luxury cruse line Virgin Voyages, will be launching its Scarlet Lady ship from Miami in 2020. Virgin Voyages’ goal is to showcase the “Modern Romance of Sailing”. This adults only ship will offer cruises focusing on wellness. The ship will have cutting edge in interior design. It will offer an indoor and outdoor athletic club, the Redemption thermal spa and accommodate 2,700 lucky passengers.
